Back when cassette tape had power, Jane’s Addiction and Porno For Pyros were always in the mix, even when people thought I was weird for liking music that wasn’t Bubblegum or Rap… hell people thought I was weird for listening to Nirvana, but now a day’s even my mom likes them (Not saying their bad, it just takes a while for some sounds to be accepted).

I could honestly say that Pets was the first song I heard from Porno For Pyros, obviously because it was their first single and it was during the time in my life that I pulled away from what was expected of me culturally so I remember allot from that time. There was a whole new world that I didn’t even know existed, till I turned the dial and noticed other music. Thank God cassette tapes were only a dollar at the time for a 60 min tape.

Too bad most of the songs on this album were never played for whatever reason. I didn’t get to listen to any of the other songs till I was almost out high school and I heard a mix tape someone made of a live show. The song Meija was the one that caught me mostly because it had a Spanish title. The harmonica really caught me because at the time I believed that it was only for Blues and Jazz music, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Cursed Male started differently than I had expected till it picked up and got fast out of nowhere. I remember listening to this one while spending the day with the girl that I never got. Every time I hear this one it reminds me of that day, but those are kid’s fantasies that are only that. I actually listen to the words now, and they make me laugh thinking of some old dude trying to impress some young girl with money because he doesn’t have much more to him.

This album makes me think of the 90's and all the weirdness I saw and felt in that decade, so all I'm gonna say  is PASS IT ON and enjoy it. There maybe other people out there who may also enjoy it.
